Why dogs are better than cats 

I think dogs are better than cats because dogs are more loyal compared to cats. If you are in danger or they are concerned about you they will stay by your side.  They also will bark to protect you.  It has been said that some breeds of dogs are able to provide protection from dangerous situations.  Dogs can also protect you if they are trained, for example if there is an intruder it could maybe intimidate scare them away.  For example when a dog thinks a stranger is near he will bark. 

I think that dogs would be better as pets in the long run whereas cats seem to tend to become bored or over stimulated.  Dogs however will always be loyal to you and can be cuddly and goofy. I believe dogs are more easy to teach than cats because I've seen dogs do things i didn't even know i could do. That's another reason why i think dogs are better than cats.

Cats can also sometimes be messy because they shed a lot and they can be strong-willed and maybe even obey your commands. They sometimes might scratch all up your furniture, whereas dogs can be easier to be playful with for example if you want to play fetch they will be more responsive. 

Another thing I heard is that dogs are more friendly to cats. I think dogs are way more friendly to people than cats are.  when i see a cat the cat starts hissing, but with a dog it seems more friendly.
